CorbinRedhounds.com brings together two kinds of material: work we created, and historical material created by others that we preserve and present. This page explains the difference and how each can be used.
What belongs to CorbinRedhounds.com
These are our original work and are protected by copyright:
- our original writing, including game stories, season write-ups, profiles, features and exhibits
- the way the archive is organized, including how we compile, arrange and present its records
- the design of the site, its graphics, layouts and interactive features
- original photography credited to CorbinRedhounds.com
- the software and code that run the site
Scores, dates and other plain facts belong to no one, and you are free to use them. What we own is our writing and the way we have organized and presented the record.
What belongs to others
Much of what makes the archive valuable was created by other people. We do not claim ownership of it.
- Historical photographs belong to the photographers, newspapers, families or organizations that hold their rights.
- Newspaper clippings and articles belong to their publishers.
- Yearbooks, programs and other printed materials belong to their creators.
- School names, logos and marks belong to their owners, including Corbin Independent Schools and other schools. We use them only to identify teams and history.
- Photos, memories and documents shared by contributors remain owned by the people who shared them. See our Content Submission Terms.
- Work by photographers and media members on the Media desk remains theirs.
How we use historical material
We include archival material to preserve and document Corbin athletic history, and for commentary, research and education. We credit sources and owners whenever we know them. When we do not know who holds the rights to an item, we say so and try to find out.
If you hold the rights to something on the site, we want to hear from you. You can ask us to add or correct a credit, or to change how the item is used or remove it. See Rights and Corrections.
Using our content
- You may share links to any page, and quote short passages with credit and a link back to CorbinRedhounds.com.
- Personal, classroom and non-commercial community use of our original content is welcome with credit.
- Please ask before republishing our original writing in full, using it commercially, or reproducing large parts of the archive or its database.
- Do not remove credits, captions or watermarks.
- For historical photos, clippings and other third-party material, permission must come from the rights holder, not from us.
To ask for permission, write to info@corbinredhounds.com.
Reporting a rights concern
If you believe something on the site uses your work without permission, please follow the steps on our Rights and Corrections page. We review every request and respond in good faith.
