Greg Taylor

Greg Taylor was a star of the 1980 state championship team and earned first-team All-State honors twice, in different positions: as a defensive back in 1980 and as a running back in 1981. He was also an honorable-mention prep All-American.

As a senior he rushed for 1,000 yards and 21 touchdowns, finishing his Corbin career with 39 touchdowns, and the Redhounds went 30-5 with him in the starting lineup. Larry “Cotton” Adams, who coached Corbin for fourteen seasons, later said Taylor might have been the best player he ever coached. He went on to play at Western Kentucky.
