Girls Volleyball Corbin Draws North Laurel in 13th Region Volleyball Tournament
Corbin will open the 2026 13th Region Volleyball Tournament against North Laurel on Saturday, October 24, at 2 p.m. at South Laurel High School.
The Lady Redhounds enter regional play following a runner-up finish in the 50th District Tournament. After falling to Whitley County in the district championship, Corbin now turns its attention to an opening-round matchup with the Lady Jaguars and a fresh opportunity to pursue a postseason title.
Saturday’s match is the third of four quarterfinals scheduled at South Laurel. Bell County and Clay County will begin tournament play at 11 a.m., followed by Whitley County against Pineville at 12:30 p.m. Knox Central and Harlan County will close the opening round at 3:30 p.m.
A victory over North Laurel would send Corbin into the semifinals on Monday, October 26, at 7:30 p.m. The Lady Redhounds would face the winner of Knox Central and Harlan County.
On the opposite side of the bracket, the winners of Bell County versus Clay County and Whitley County versus Pineville will meet in Monday’s first semifinal at 6 p.m.
The regional championship is scheduled for Tuesday, October 27, at 6:30 p.m.
The draw places Corbin and Whitley County in opposite halves of the tournament, meaning another meeting between the district finalists could occur only in the regional championship. Both teams would need two victories to reach that point.
For the Lady Redhounds, the immediate task is North Laurel. A win Saturday would extend Corbin’s season into the tournament’s final two days and move the team one step closer to a regional title.
